About the DTI™ Programme

The Digital Transformation & Innovation™ Programme is a joint initiative by the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), a research institute of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Agency.

The objective is to train and guide key personnel of organisations to be Digital Transformers in leveraging digital technologies to accelerate business model changes and achieve meaningful digital transformation. Using the Digital Transformation & Innovation™ (DTI™) Methodology, you will learn to analyse and (re-)design your strategies, business model, value streams, and system architecture to ensure greater alignment, unlock new business growth and achieve sustainable competitive in-sights to the evolving Artificial intelligence (AI) for manufacturing landscape.

Unit 1: Understand Digital Transformation (40 hours)

Course Outline

This unit focuses on immersive learning at Model Factory@SIMTech by allowing participants to experience advanced manufacturing technologies, gain in-sights to the evolving AI for manufacturing landscape and learn the DTI™ Methodology in an actual smart production environment.

Key focus areas or applications:

  • Understanding concepts of digital transformation and business model innovation
  • Linking business strategies with topline/bottomline improvement
  • (Re-)designing business model to leverage on digital and AI technologies
  • Analysing the current activity landscape and system architecture
  • Identifying hotspots and transformation areas
  • Benchmarking with digital readiness/maturity
  • Generating initiatives, future activity landscape and smart system architecture
  • Developing an action plan for digital transformation and performance tracker

Upon Completion of This Course

UPON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE

Participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Attendance (COA) by SIMTech and/or ARTC if they meet the following criteria:

  • Achieve at least 75% course attendance;
  • Take all assessments; and
  • Pass the course.

Note: Trainees will have to bear the full courses fee upon failure to meet either one of the criteria.

Unit 2: Apply Digital Transformation & Innovationā„¢ (DTIā„¢) Methodology (On-site Mentoring)(40 hours)

Course outline

This unit reinforces the learning from Unit 1 ā€œUnderstand Digital Transformationā€ through on-site mentorship. With personalised coaching, participants will systematically identify specific improvement areas and relevant digital technologies for achieving the companyā€™s business objectives and develop an action plan for driving its digital agenda.

Key focus areas or applications:
  • Setting up teams of digital transformers
  • Refining the outputs of the DTIā„¢ methodology with on-site coaching/mentoring
  • Deep-diving on individual technologies with implementation tips
  • Identifying partners (e.g. system integrators)
  • Generating a detailed action plan and budget estimation incorporating feedback of top management
  • Developing quick gains to ensure buy-in and continuity of digitalisation

Upon Completion of This Course

Pre-Requisites

  • Applicants should possess a degree in any discipline or a diploma with a minimum of 3 years of related working experience.
  • Applicants who do not have the required academic qualifications are still welcome to apply, but shortlisted candidates may be required to attend an interview for special approval.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Full Course Fee

The full course fee for each DTI™ module is $6,000 before funding and prevailing GST.

LONG TERM VISIT PASS PLUS (LTVP+) HOLDERS

  • The LTVP+ scheme applies to lawful foreign spouses of Singapore Citizens with (i) at least one Singapore Citizen child or are expecting one from the marriage, or at least three years of marriage, and (ii) where the Singapore Citizen sponsor is able to support the family.
  •  All LTVP+ holders can be identified with their green visit pass cards, with the word ā€˜PLUSā€™ printed on the back of the card.

ENHANCED TRAINING SUPPORT FOR SMALL & MEDIUM ENTERPRISE (SMEs) SCHEME (ETSS)

  • The Ā¹ is for company-sponsored participants who are subject to the eligibility criteria shown below:

SMEs that meet all of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million

SME-sponsored Trainees:

  • Must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.
  • Courses have to be fully paid for by the employer.
  • Trainee is not a full-time national serviceman. 

Further Info: This scheme is intended for all organisations, including non-business entities not registered with ACRA e.g. VWOs, societies, etc. Only ministries, statutory boards, and other government agencies are NOT eligible under Enhanced Training Support for SMEs Scheme. Sole proprietorships which meet all of the above criteria are also eligible.

SKILLSFUTURE MID-CAREER ENHANCED SUBSIDY (MCES)

  • The Ā² is meant for employer-sponsored and self-sponsored Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above.

SkillsFuture Credit

  • All Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above are eligible for  which can be used to offset course fees (for self-sponsored registrations only).

Dr Tan Puay Siew

Dr Tan Puay Siew spearheads the Model Factory@SIMTech and has many years of experience in ICT implementations and large scale projects, with deep expertise in complex systems, Industry 4.0 and system architecture. She has a PhD in Computer Science and degrees in Mechanical Engineering.

Dr Roland Lim

Dr Roland Lim has strong expertise in operations management, manufacturing & supply chain strategy, and productivity planning & implementation. His industry experience has enabled him to gain extensive knowledge of the best practices and solutions to tackle various business challenges. He holds an EngD in Industrial Engineering, and MSc & BEng in Engineering.

Mr Toh Ming Hon is a Senior Consultant, who specialises on business transformation. He has helped numerous companies to innovate their business models and to achieve more than 100% productivity gain using digital technologies. He holds a BEng (Hons.) in Electronic Engineering and a MBA.

Mr Ma Bin

Mr Ma Bin has over 25 years of experience in operations management and business transformation. His work accolades include A*STAR STAR Employee Award 2014, A*STAR Borderless Award and Ministry of Transport’s Merit Award 2010. He holds a BEng in Computer Software and a MTech in Knowledge Engineering.

Dr Ng Huey Yuen

Dr Ng Huey Yuen leads the development of the Digital Transformation & Innovation™ (DTI™) Methodology. His expertise lies in business model innovation and inventory management. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, and was awarded the National Science Scholarship.
